Sri Lanka's first showroom for high-quality electric motorcycles manufactured by SAIGE Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd was officially opened today in Kadawatha by SAIGE LANKA (PVT) LTD, with the participation of Parliamentarians, islandwide dealers, customers, and well-wishers.
Cassie Yang and Shirley Dou, representing the marketing team of SAIGE Electric Vehicle Technology Co., Ltd, also participated in the event.
SAIGE LANKA (PVT) LTD, in collaboration with partners from the People's Republic of China, is engaged in the import and distribution of high-quality electric motorcycles in Sri Lanka.
Managing Director of SAIGE LANKA (PVT) LTD, Pradeep Nanayakkara, said the initiative contributes to Sri Lanka's green energy and sustainable transportation goals, while further strengthening the long-standing economic and friendly relations between Sri Lanka and China.
Deputy Minister of Rural Development, Social Security and Community Empowerment Wasantha Piyathissa said clean energy is especially important in the transport sector. He noted that the introduction of electric motorcycles, in collaboration with the Chinese counterpart, is "a good gift from China."
He further requested SAIGE LANKA to expand its operations and establish more branches islandwide so that the benefits can also reach rural areas.
